Job summary

AllSearch Professional Staffing, Inc. represents a Water Resources Engineer position in Richmond, VA. The role supports transportation infrastructure projects across Virginia, leading technical design efforts, performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and mentoring junior engineers.

The candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop drainage and stormwater designs, and prepare plans, reports, and permitting documentation. Base salary ranges from 115k to 120k annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• PE license required; Virginia licensure preferred or reciprocity.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience in water resources, drainage design, stormwater management, hydrologic analysis, and hydraulic modeling.
• Experience preparing plans, construction documents, reports, and permitting docs.
• Strong understanding of design standards, construction docs, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting transportation, roadway, or municipal projects.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare studies, reports, drainage analyses, and design calculations for water resources and transportation projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for roadway and infrastructure projects.
• Develop designs for stormwater management, drainage systems, culverts, and related infrastructure.
• Prepare construction plans, specs, cost estimates, permits, and contract docs.
• Review designs to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and permits.
• Coordinate with project teams to deliver on schedule and within budget.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work.
• Participate in quality control and process improvements.
• Attend client and stakeholder meetings as needed.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations as required.
