Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Civil Engineer with strong water resources expertise to supervise site-wide water management efforts at the Morenci operation. You will work on tailings, crushed-leach facilities, and process water systems, guiding multidisciplinary teams and improving designs.

The role requires a degree in civil engineering with several years of experience in water-related projects, proficiency in CAD/ArcGIS/HEC tools, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of civil, geotechnical, water resources, water quality/treatment, and/or geological engineering.
• Experience in tailings storage, leach stockpiles, water dams, process water balance.
• Proficient in MS Office and engineering tools (CAD, analytical, mapping).
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide projects to maintain site-wide water management performance.
• Interpret and manage water data, forecasting, and reporting for tailings, leach, and process water systems.
• Review and improve tailings, leach, and water management systems to align with best practices.
• Provide recommendations on design and operational projects to site teams and consultants.
• Develop and maintain water balance models and simulations for capital projects.
