Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. Morenci is seeking a senior environmental engineer to plan and manage complex environmental programs. You will supervise engineering practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide site management on environmental requirements and budgets.

The role requires leadership of multidisciplinary teams, interaction with regulators, and experience with audits and corrective actions. On-site work with housing support is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Experience with air permitting, emissions inventories, and compliance programs.
• Proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams across engineering and science.
• Strong ability to mentor and develop technical professionals.
• Experience with environmental audits, inspections and corrective actions.
• Experience communicating with regulators and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and evaluates designated environmental engineering projects within scope and budget.
• Supervises engineering practices and monitors environmental compliance at the site.
• Reviews and investigates environmental project recommendations for approval.
• Provides guidance on programs and regulatory requirements to site management.
• Manages contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
• Contributes to site budgeting and strategic planning.
• Represents site on company steering teams related to environmental matters.
• Performs other duties as required.
