We are seeking a senior-level Water Resources Engineer in Northern Virginia to serve as a lead technical modeler on complex water resources projects. This role focuses on advanced H&H modeling, floodplain and dam analysis, permitting, and mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities
- Lead development and QA/QC of HEC-RAS models
- Perform floodplain and dam analyses, including breach and hazard studies
- Prepare and review permitting packages (e.g., CLOMR/LOMR)
- Develop technical reports and support regulatory coordination
- Conduct site visits and inspections
- Manage multiple projects and timelines
- Mentor and oversee junior staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of HEC-RAS modeling experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proficiency in GIS (e.g., ArcMap)
- Strong analytical, communication, and QA/QC skills
