Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks a Project Manager of Water Resilience to lead multi-disciplinary teams across California and beyond. You will drive projects from concept through execution, manage budgets, and engage clients to deliver resilient water infrastructure.

The role requires a strong civil/environmental engineering background with 10–12 years in water resources, California PE licensure, and proven client-facing skills. Travel to BKF locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 10-12 years of experience in water resources, with focus on surface water, flood management and resilience projects.
• Proven project management experience with budget management and client relations.
• California PE licensure required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in hydrologic modeling software and engineering design tools.
• Experience with preparing proposals for public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage water resilience projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budgets, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate project progress and approvals.
• Conduct analyses and assessments to inform design (hydrologic modeling, risk assessments, feasibility studies).
• Develop proposals, scope of work, schedules, and budgets aligned with client expectations.
• Engage clients and stakeholders, providing updates and building relationships.
• Mentor and train junior staff, fostering collaboration and growth.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities related to water resilience.
