Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Project Manager of Surface Water/Flood Control to lead water resilience projects across California and beyond. You will guide multidisciplinary teams from concept to execution, engage with clients, manage budgets and schedules, and drive successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings a passion for water resilience, strong project management skills, and a solid engineering background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in water resources, focusing on surface water, flood management and resilience projects.
• Proven project management experience in civil engineering with strong budgets and client relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage water resilience projects, ensuring timely completion, budgets, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure necessary approvals.
• Conduct hydrologic modeling, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to inform design.
• Develop proposals, scope of work, schedules and budgets aligned with client expectations.
• Engage clients and stakeholders, providing updates and building relationships.
• Mentor and train junior staff to foster collaboration and growth.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in water resilience.
