Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Cost Estimator to join our Water-US Delivery team in the United States. You will oversee the development of accurate, detailed cost estimates for major capital and construction projects, guiding project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities include estimating costs from drawings, managing databases, reviewing third-party estimates, and supporting scheduling and risk analysis for complex water projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years in cost estimating, construction management, or related fields.
• Experience developing construction cost estimates and schedules at various design stages per AACEI guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Cost estimation leadership for major capital and construction projects.
• Prepare cost estimates analyzing costs, materials, labor, bid documents, and specifications.
• Design, implement, and maintain cost estimating databases.
• Collaborate with project teams to review drawings and provide value management.
• Evaluate third-party estimates and track market conditions to validate estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs for large concrete structures and contribute to scheduling for water projects.
• Write Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule reports.
• Participate in client cost estimate and schedule reviews.
• Establish site-specific estimating criteria and lead risk preparation.
• Collaborate with design team on critical path activities.
