Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our multidisciplinary teams delivering municipal, industrial, and water project solutions across the United States. The role emphasizes cost estimation excellence, schedule integration, and collaboration with design and client teams.

Candidates should bring 15+ years in cost estimating or construction management, familiarity with AACEI guidelines, and proficiency in MII, Sage, InEight, Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in cost estimating or construction management.
• Experience with AACEI guidelines and developing estimates at design stages.
• Ability to develop schedules and cost plans for major projects.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation Excellence: supervise, facilitate, and coordinate development of accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for major capital and construction projects.
• Analytical Insight: prepare cost estimates by analyzing costs, materials, labor, bid docs, and specs.
• Database Management: design, implement, and maintain cost estimating databases.
• Value Management: review drawings/specifications, determine costs, and assist in value management.
• Validation and Guidance: evaluate third-party estimates and track market conditions and costs.
• Technical Skills: perform quantity take-offs for large concrete structures and contribute to scheduling.
• Documentation: write Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule reports.
• Client Collaboration: participate in client cost estimate and schedule reviews.
• Risk Assessment: establish site-specific estimating criteria and direct risk preparation.
• Collaboration with Design Team: analyze critical path activities and resolve issues.
• Team Building: assist management in developing estimating/scheduling team.
• Experience: minimum 15 years in cost estimating/construction management.
• Project Software: Proficiency in MII, Sage, InEight; Scheduling in Primavera P6 or MS Project; Office in Bluebeam Revu.
