Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our US delivery teams focused on water and related projects. The role drives cost estimates for major capital and construction projects, performs detailed quantity takeoffs, and supports project scheduling and risk analysis.

You will design cost databases, review drawings for value management, and guide clients through cost and schedule reviews across multiple locations, including Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years in cost estimating, construction management, or related fields.
• Experience developing construction cost estimates and schedules at various design stages per AACEI guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of accurate, timely cost estimates for capital and construction projects.
• Analyze costs, materials, labor, bid docs, and specs for estimates.
• Design, implement, and maintain cost estimating databases.
• Collaborate with teams to review drawings, determine costs, and support value management.
• Validate estimates against market conditions and third-party estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for large concrete structures and contribute to schedules.
• Prepare Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule reports.
• Participate in client cost estimate and schedule reviews.
• Assess site-specific estimating criteria including labor, equipment and materials.
