Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our team across the US, including Tampa. You will lead the development of detailed cost estimates for major projects and guide project outcomes with disciplined estimates and risk analysis.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in cost estimating or CM, proficiency with MII/Sage/InEight, Primavera P6 or MS Project, and familiarity with AACEI guidelines. Office-based with some site visits; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years in cost estimating or construction management.
• Experience developing construction estimates and schedules per AACEI guidelines.
• Proficiency with MII, Sage and/or InEight for cost estimation and risk analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of accurate, timely cost estimates for major projects.
• Analyze costs, materials, labor, bids and specifications for estimates.
• Design and maintain cost estimating databases using multiple software tools.
• Review drawings/specifications for value management and cost controls.
• Evaluate third‑party estimates and track market conditions to validate estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for large concrete structures and schedule focus.
• Draft Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule reports.
• Collaborate with clients on cost estimate and schedule reviews.
• Establish site‑specific estimating criteria and assess risks.
• Work with design teams to resolve critical path issues and develop staffing.
• Assist in building a coherent estimating and scheduling team.
