Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Manager for water supply planning in California. You will manage budgets, schedules, and a team of engineers and scientists while coordinating with clients and HDR leaders. You will guide planning and design efforts, communicate progress, and contribute to proposals and business development.

You will leverage hydraulic modeling tools and lead multi-stakeholder meetings to deliver on time and within budget, strengthening HDR’s client relationships and project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 7 years related experience and minimum 2 years project management experience.
• Experience with CAD and GIS.
• Strong written and verbal communication and leadership skills.
• PE licensure in CA or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the project manager for water supply planning projects, maintaining budgets and schedules.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal staff.
• Define scopes of work, resources, budgets, and deliverables; maintain backlog of planning work.
• Lead project team and supervise engineers/scientists and subcontractors.
• Manage contracts, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and contract compliance.
• Lead planning/pre-design efforts and coordinate with stakeholders; prepare reports and presentations.
• Represent HDR in meetings, contribute to proposals and contract negotiations.
• Develop client relationships to identify and pursue new planning opportunities.
