Job summary

HDR is seeking a Planning Project Manager to lead water supply planning projects in Southern California. You will manage scopes, budgets, and schedules while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with client and internal teams.

You will lead planning and pre-design efforts, produce written reports, present findings, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Travel may be required and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, planning, engineering, and/or construction on capital improvement projects.
• PE licensure in California or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with CAD and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the project manager for water supply planning projects with budgets and schedules.
• Define scopes of work and resources, budgets, and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Prepare and review/update project execution plans and communicate progress to management.
• Lead planning and preliminary design efforts and coordinate with other managers and clients.
• Manage contracts and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
