Job summary

GBA is seeking a Civil Engineer V: Water Lead Engineer in the Lenexa area. You will provide strategic technical leadership on complex potable water projects, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers within the Water Environment practice to ensure delivery excellence.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support business development, and represent GBA as a trusted technical advisor to clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/related field.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• PE license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for potable water projects (distribution, transmission, storage).
• Act as technical authority for design quality, standards, QA/QC across projects.
• Lead design oversight for new and rehab water systems and facilities.
• Review complex calculations, hydraulic models, studies, plans, specs, and reports.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions for challenging water infra projects.
• Establish engineering best practices and technical standards.
• Collaborate with project leaders and multidisciplinary teams for excellence.
• Support business development: proposals, scopes, and client pursuits.
• Mentor engineers and professionals within the Water Environment practice.
• Represent GBA as trusted technical advisor with clients and regulators.
