Job summary

GBA is seeking a Civil Engineer V to lead advanced potable wastewater projects and set technical direction for the Wastewater Environment practice. You will mentor engineers, establish best practices, and guide complex designs from concept through construction.

You'll review hydraulic models, calculations, and reports, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver reliable, sustainable infrastructure that advances community goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 10+ years of relevant engineering experience expected.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or required per local standards.
• Expertise in potable wastewater infrastructure design and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for complex potable Wastewater distribution, transmission, storage, pump station, and Wastewater treatment projects.
• Serve as the technical authority for design quality, engineering standards, and QA/QC across multiple projects.
• Lead design oversight for new and rehabilitation Wastewater distribution systems, transmission mains, storage tanks, booster pump stations, and treatment facilities.
• Review and approve complex engineering calculations, hydraulic models, technical studies, plans, specifications, and reports.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions for the firm’s most technically challenging wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Establish engineering best practices, technical standards, and design approaches that strengthen project delivery.
• Partner with Project Leaders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence.
• Support business development through proposal preparation, scope development, fee estimates, and client pursuits.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical expertise across the Wastewater Environment practice.
• Represent GBA as a trusted technical advisor with clients and regulators.
