Job summary

Carollo Engineers, Inc. in Phoenix seeks an experienced Senior Inspector to lead field oversight of water and wastewater facility construction. You will monitor contractor performance, review plans, and ensure conformance with codes and contract documents while coordinating with project teams and clients.

You will prepare daily reports, track progress, and mentor junior inspectors, applying deep field experience to identify issues early and protect safety, quality, and project schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible construction inspection or field experience.
• Experience with water/wastewater or heavy civil infrastructure construction.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change docs.
• Knowledge of concrete construction, earthwork, soils, piping.
• OSHA construction safety knowledge.
• Ability to work independently in active construction environments.
• Strong written communication and documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level field inspection for water and wastewater facilities construction.
• Monitor construction activities for conformance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements.
• Review plans for constructability concerns, conflicts, errors, omissions, and potential field issues.
• Apply extensive field experience to identify emerging construction issues and elevate concerns early.
• Coordinate and perform site inspections across active construction activities and track project progress.
• Work closely with contractors, Carollo project teams, engineers, and client representatives to resolve field questions and maintain coordination.
• Review RFIs, submittals, change directives, and as-built conditions as applicable.
• Observe and document changed or unforeseen field conditions and communicate impacts to project teams.
• Coordinate construction-related shutdowns with project teams and client facilities as required.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, field documentation, photographs, progress records, and construction observations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of construction progress, quantities, changed conditions, and as-built information.
• Assist with verification of construction quantities and contractor progress for payment purposes.
• Participate in construction progress, coordination, and field meetings as needed.
• Build productive relationships with contractors, owners, engineers, and project stakeholders; provide field leadership and mentoring to junior inspectors.
