Job summary

City of Keizer invites applications for Municipal Utility Worker III – Senior Water Distribution Specialist in Keizer, Oregon. You will lead field crews, oversee water distribution programs, and ensure the system operates safely and efficiently through hands-on work and coordination.

The role combines field duties with program oversight, including meter maintenance, shut-offs, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Five years of full-time experience as a certified water distribution operator.
Experience in water distribution maintenance and related infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of safety regulations and regulatory standards for water systems.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, assign, and inspect work related to installation, repair, and maintenance of the water distribution system.
Lead MUW I and II Water Distribution staff, provide training and on-site direction, and ensure job-site safety compliance.
Manage Water Division programs such as valve and hydrant exercising, leak detection, meter testing, fleet maintenance, and safety documentation.
Coordinate with Utility Billing on monthly shut-offs, meter issues, diagnostics, and account inconsistencies.
Perform pump station operations and maintenance, adjust telemetry, and monitor system performance.
