Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. seeks an Environmental Compliance Specialist to ensure treated water meets all local, state and federal requirements. You will maintain treatment systems, perform operational tasks, keep accurate records and budgets up to date.

You will analyze data, ensure wastewater samples are collected and sent to the lab for permit compliance, and prepare reports for the corporate office and agencies. Travel is 1–5 trips per year.

Qualifications

• Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses.
• 3+ years of environmental compliance experience; Wastewater certification license preferred.
• Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Supervisory responsibilities over a group performing related tasks.
• Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all water leaving the Tyson water treatment facility meets local, state, and federal requirements.
• Maintain treatment systems, perform operational maintenance, and keep administrative records.
• Budget for funds to operate and maintain the facility effectively and provide a safe work environment.
• Analyze operational data to determine changes and improvements needed to accomplish objectives.
• Ensure wastewater samples are correctly collected and sent to the lab for permit compliance.
• Generate reports for the corporate office and government agencies as required.
• Aid Wastewater Operators in maintaining their operator licenses and supervise staff.
