Job summary

Tyson Foods in the United States is seeking a Safety Manager to provide safety leadership and strategic direction for the plant. You will lead continuous improvement efforts and advise site management on the Safety Management System.

Responsibilities include implementing proactive safety strategies, OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and safety training across the facility. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of safety experience, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management Engineering, or Industrial Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in environmental safety and sustainability management preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations OSHA hazard communications accident investigation and safety training methods.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and drive a proactive local safety strategy to establish a sustainable, healthy, and operationally safe plant.
• Participate in development of a visionary safety framework and implement new initiatives within a collaborative team environment.
• Direct safety programs site-wide and implement new initiatives to minimize company losses due to accidents.
• Measure the effectiveness of safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and ergonomic programs.
• Inspect machinery, equipment, and working conditions for OSHA compliance.
• Report potential violations and analyze accident statistics to establish precautions.
• Communicate safety policy changes to management and conduct site safety inspections and audits.
• Conduct training in ergonomics, emergency response, lockout/tag out, hazard communication, and PPE.
• Investigate safety-related incidents and complete reports for risk management.
• Review safety areas and determine corrective actions.
