Job summary

The City of Rock Hill is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator to oversee advanced operations at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The role requires high school or GED plus four years in plant operation, with an A-level biological wastewater license and a valid driver’s license.

You will manage processes, respond to emergencies, and ensure compliance with EPA and state regulations. On-site work with potential training and collaboration with maintenance and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years in water/wastewater plant operation or related experience.
• A level Biological Wastewater Operator License required; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EPA and SCDHEC regulations with no violations.
• Attend required trainings and maintain Biological Wastewater Operator License.
• Adjust biological, chemical and physical processes to keep plant running.
• Troubleshoot plant issues and guide corrective actions to normal operations.
• Coordinate with Preventive Maintenance Contractors to minimize disruption.
