Job summary

WestRock Company seeks a General Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of a large distribution facility in Georgia. You will oversee routing, receiving, forklift, truck operations, inventory and staff within the warehouse, ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role requires six-plus years in operations, including facility or DC management, with strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills. Expect budget oversight and occasional travel as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Six+ years of operations experience, incl. 3+ years managing industrial/facility operations.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative leadership abilities.
• Budget development and oversight experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee warehouse operations including routing/dispatch, receiving, forklift operations, truck driving, general warehouse and inventory.
• Interview, hire, train, monitor, discipline, and terminate staff as needed.
• Develop supervisors and team leaders to manage daily routines.
• Ensure safety policy compliance and safe operation of equipment.
• Research, recommend and implement equipment for safe transport and storage of products.
• Oversee required paperwork and data entry by warehouse team.
• Coordinate scheduling with drivers and dispatchers.
• Partner with Safety to improve safety practices and policies.
• Ensure proper storage to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
• Supervise inventory rotation and space utilization.
• Develop and justify annual budget including staffing and equipment needs.
• Adjust staffing to meet peak customer demand.
