Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Load inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers.
2. Unload inbound and outbound containers, sorting freight by size and destination.
3. Read and interpret freight coding to expedite movement and tracing.
4. Reconcile driver pickup and delivery manifests.
5. Label, weigh, and dimensionalize freight.
6. Maintain safety and cleanliness in the work area through cleanup activities.
7. Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight.
8. Communicate work area needs to the Warehouse Supervisor.
9. Determine daily tasks and coordinate staffing accordingly.
10. Delegate warehouse tasks in collaboration with the Warehouse Supervisor.
11. Identify and report system or process issues.
12. Coordinate trucking transportation in and out of the warehouse.
13. Maintain quality standards for storage and service, communicating with customers.
14. Ensure a safe working environment.
15. Perform other duties as assigned, including training new warehouse personnel.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years of experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and computers.
• Strong organizational, inventory, and accounting skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read freight coding and operate hand trucks and forklifts.
• Physical ability to push, pull, and lift weights up to 50+ lbs.
