Job summary

Silicon Desert Staffing is seeking a Senior Wafer Fab Yield Engineer to drive systematic yield improvement across semiconductor wafer fabrication. The role analyzes manufacturing data, defects, inline metrology, and wafer-level electrical test to identify yield-loss mechanisms and lead corrective actions.

The engineer acts as a senior technical resource, connecting fab performance to device yield, and collaborates with Process, Equipment, Process Integration, Product/Test, Failure Analysis,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related technical discipline.
• Significant engineering experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, preferably involving yield, process integration, product engineering, device engineering or failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of wafer fabrication processes, process variation, defects and electrical yield.
• Ability to perform statistical analysis on large manufacturing datasets and solve complex problems.
• Experience with JMP or comparable data-analysis tools.
• Working knowledge of SPC, DOE, process capability, correlation/regression and hypothesis testing.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical conclusions to engineering and manufacturing.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical problem-solving efforts.

Responsibilities

• Drive systematic yield improvement across wafer fabrication.
• Analyze manufacturing data, inline metrology, defects and test data to identify yield-loss mechanisms.
• Lead implementation of corrective actions and monitor sustainability of improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Process Engineering, Equipment, Process Integration, Product/Test, Failure Analysis, Quality, and Manufacturing to reduce variability.
