Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a senior VSD Subject Matter Expert to lead technical excellence across YORK water-cooled chiller platforms. You will troubleshoot complex drive systems, guide field teams, and shape product reliability from development to launch.

The role requires deep expertise in power electronics, three-phase systems, and strong communication. Travel up to 15% is expected, with opportunities to influence global service strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Electronics, Controls, or related field.
• 7+ years experience with variable-speed drives and power electronics.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical problems in VSD/hardware and controls.
• Knowledge of three-phase power, DC-link, semiconductor devices, and protection.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test data.

Responsibilities

• As Subject Matter Expert for VSD technologies across YORK chiller portfolio.
• Provide advanced technical support to global Field Sales, Service, and Product teams.
• Lead diagnosis and resolution of complex VSD power electronics issues.
• Serve as escalation resource for challenging field problems with data and analysis.
• Develop technical training and knowledge transfer for internal teams.
• Participate in new product development, design reviews, and validation planning.
• Translate field needs into service literature and procedures.
• Support safe commissioning and reliability improvements.
