Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Network Security Engineer focused on remote access VPNs and zero-trust architectures.

You will architect, deploy, and secure enterprise VPN solutions (Tailscale, WireGuard, IPsec, SSL) across multiple platforms, owning the full lifecycle from design to maintenance. The role requires deep networking, Linux infra management, and automation skills to improve reliability and security in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or 5+ years of network security experience
• 3+ years of experience securing networks, IT infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and/or APIs

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and secure enterprise remote access VPN solutions (Tailscale, WireGuard, IPsec, SSL)
• Own full lifecycle of remote access infrastructure from design to operations
• Configure VPN clients across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android
• Develop automation and CI/CD workflows to streamline deployment and policy enforcement
• Implement zero-trust remote access architectures and manage firewall policies
• Collaborate with engineering/operations to gather requirements and share best practices
• Monitor VPN performance, logs, and security posture and drive continuous improvements
• Patch systems and perform maintenance to ensure reliability and security
