Job summary
SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Network Security Engineer (VPN) to design, deploy, and secure enterprise remote access VPNs with a strong emphasis on Tailscale and WireGuard.
You will own the complete lifecycle of the VPN infrastructure, including policy definition, client distribution, and performance optimization across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. The role requires deep networking expertise, Linux administration, and automation using Python to streamline deployments and security
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of network security experience; OR 8+ years of network security experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of experience securing networks, IT infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and/or APIs.
- Proven experience leading design, deployment, and operation of enterprise remote access VPN solutions in large-scale environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise on network security and VPN technologies with focus on remote access.
- Architect, deploy, and secure enterprise remote access VPN solutions end-to-end.
- Own the full lifecycle of remote access infrastructure from design to maintenance.
- Configure, deploy, and support VPN clients across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
- Develop automation and CI/CD workflows to streamline deployment and policy enforcement.
- Monitor VPN performance, logs, and security posture; drive resolutions and change management.
