Job summary

Mode.Inc is seeking a DevOps / Network Engineer to own and evolve the VPN and networking infrastructure behind our acquired product. You will run a globally distributed VPN network, build automation, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.

You will work with the Engineering Manager and backend/mobile engineers to improve reliability, security, and cost efficiency. You will turn manual runbooks into code, embrace agentic AI tools, and contribute during 2-week sprints with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional DevOps, SRE, or network engineering experience in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and alternative providers.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible).
• Docker and container orchestration across multiple nodes/providers.
• Strong Linux and networking skills (iptables/nftables, WireGuard, DNS, TLS).
• Security-focused with secrets management and encryption practices.

Responsibilities

• Own production operations for VPN/networking infrastructure and cost monitoring.
• Automate, CI/CD, and observability foundations; replace manual runbooks with code.
• Collaborate with Engineering to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure in 2-week sprints.
• Apply agentic AI tools to accelerate development, with proper reviews before production changes.
• Maintain security, encryption, least-privilege access, and incident response processes.
