Job summary

Mode.Inc is seeking a DevOps / Network Engineer to own and evolve the VPN product infrastructure after acquisition. You will operate a globally distributed VPN network, integrate CI/CD and observability, and help scale cloud and hosting providers while ensuring security and cost efficiency.

You will collaborate with the Engineering Manager and backend/mobile teams to improve reliability, automate workflows, and reduce manual toil through code and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional DevOps, SRE, or network engineering experience in production infrastructure.
• Hands-on with AWS and at least one additional provider (e.g., DigitalOcean, Linode).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and Ansible.
• Docker and container orchestration across many nodes.
• VPN/proxy networking in production, scalable environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the infrastructure and networking domain for a VPN product after acquisition.
• Build and evolve CI/CD, observability, and deployment tooling.
• Automate runbooks and migrate manual tasks to code.
• Work with Engineering Manager and backend/mobile engineers to improve reliability.
• Apply agentic AI tools to accelerate infrastructure development and incident response.
