Job summary

Mode.Inc is seeking an hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the VPN product post-acquisition and to become a technical leader for future acquisitions. You will own onboarding, transition, and integration of live products while guiding a growing team of engineers across mobile and backend stacks.

You’ll partner with the VP of Engineering, Product, and Corporate development to deliver against a strategic roadmap, establish best practices in CI/CD, security, and testing, and build a repeatable

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including people management.
• Experience in native mobile and backend services with cloud hosting.
• Experience leading technical acquisitions, migrations, and integration.
• Proficiency with AI coding agents and secure workflows.
• Strong communication with executives and stakeholders.
• Security, privacy, and compliance mindset (GDPR/CCPA/SOC 2) is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding of acquired products from due diligence through transition.
• Define and execute the acquisition transition plan.
• Build repeatable playbooks for onboarding future acquisitions.
• Hire, coach, and grow engineers; foster ownership and delivery.
• Drive CI/CD, IaC, testing, and production release.
• Partner with Product, Corp Dev, Marketing, and Ops.
