Job summary

Stoke Therapeutics, headquartered in Bedford, MA, is seeking a Senior Vice President, Accounting and Corporate Controller to lead global accounting, tax, internal controls, and public company reporting as the company scales toward commercial operations.

The role partners with the CFO and executive team to build a scalable finance infrastructure, manage SEC filings, and ensure SOX compliance while guiding strategic decisions to support growth and disclosure standards for a NASDAQ-listed life

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Experience at a Big 4 Accounting firm preferred
• 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership at a public company
• Demonstrated expertise in SEC reporting, SOX 404 compliance, and US GAAP, with life sciences experience preferred
• Proven experience supporting a company through commercial launch, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), GTN accounting, and inventory accounting
• Track record of building scalable teams, processes, and systems in a high-growth environment
• Experience presenting to Audit Committees and managing relationships with external auditors
• Exceptional judgment, executive presence, and communication skills across levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Lead all global accounting operations to support commercial-scale operations.
• Own the integrity and timeliness of SEC filings and GAAP compliance.
• Set policy on complex transactions including GTN, distributor agreements, and R&D arrangements.
• Maintain and strengthen SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Oversee accounting for clinical and commercial inventory and 3PL oversight.
• Oversee corporate tax, ASC 740 accounting, and R&D tax credit strategy.
• Lead external audits and Audit Committee reporting.
• Prepare the finance organization for commercial launch and growth.
• Develop a high-performing finance team with succession planning and accountability.
