Job summary

Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. is seeking a Director, Assistant Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations, ensure U.S. GAAP compliance, and oversee SEC reporting and SOX controls. This hybrid role is based in Bedford, MA, reporting to the Corporate Controller and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The candidate will manage financial close, policy development, and liaison with external auditors while driving process improvements in a fast-growing biopharmaceutical company.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience and biotech/pharma exposure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team through monthly, quarterly and annual closes.
• Prepare and review SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and coordinate with external auditors.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and positions; lead SOX compliance.
• Drive improvements to financial processes and internal controls across the organization.
