Job summary

Jobtailor in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced Logistics Operations Leader to develop client-focused strategies, drive cost control, and improve margins while supporting organic growth across multiple sites.

You will lead teams, manage budgets, apply WMS know-how, and collaborate with HR, Sales, and Finance to optimize performance, reporting, and client satisfaction; travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of logistics operations management experience with big box, e-commerce, or specialty retailers.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a regional operations leader managing multiple locations.
• Experience in a client-centric environment with accountability for operations metrics and client relations.
• Experience preparing budgets and participating in financial reviews.
• Solid understanding of standard and actual cost variances.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or equivalent fields required.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Working knowledge of industry WMS.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to navigate a matrixed organizational structure.
• Intermediate mathematical, accounting, and financial skills.
• Ability to lead, recruit, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures.
• Willingness to work overtime as dictated by the business.
• Ability to travel by plane and automobile.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement client-tailored operations strategies to improve cost control, margins, and organic growth.
• Ensure operational excellence through standardization, risk assessment, and review of key metrics.
• Plan and execute start-up facilities for new business.
• Lead teams and partner with clients to troubleshoot and solve operational issues.
• Contribute to sales and solutions teams in winning strategic accounts.
• Build bench strength by leading, developing, and challenging operations teams.
• Challenge existing ways of thinking.
• Establish business relationships with Human Resources, Sales, Finance, and other supporting departments.
• Directly supervise Directors and General Managers.
• Manage overall operations to achieve client satisfaction.
• Interpret organizational policies, purposes, and goals for subordinates.
• Manage the performance of direct reports.
