Hamilton Lane is seeking a Vice President, External Communications – Americas to lead external communications for the region. The role shapes PR strategy, advises senior leaders, and manages relationships with media and stakeholders to protect and elevate the firm’s brand.

The position oversees content creation, crisis readiness, and collaboration with global teams, requiring strong leadership across time zones and a track record in financial services communications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of the financial media landscape and ability to build and maintain reporter relationships.
• Proven track record of leading strategic communications in complex, matrixed, or global organizations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the Americas PR strategy in alignment with regional and global initiatives.
• Media & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with top-tier media and industry stakeholders; oversee media relations and crisis response.
• Content & Messaging Oversight: Guide press releases and messaging; ensure consistency across markets and platforms.
• Monitoring, Insights & Risk Management: Track media trends and sentiment; inform strategy and oversee PR reporting.
• Team & Agency Management: Mentor team members and agencies; manage budgets and resources for Americas PR.
