Job summary

DFCU Financial is seeking a VP, Commercial Loan Officer in Grand Rapids, MI to lead business development and portfolio management for commercial clients. You will underwrite credits, structure solutions, and drive growth with cross-functional teams to deliver holistic financial services.

Qualifications

• Seven years lending or sales experience in the financial services industry.
• Three - five years commercial lending and credit underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated high performance in sales goal attainment.
• Demonstrated community involvement.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and develop new business banking relationships focused on deposit and lending growth.
• Grow and manage a portfolio of commercial clients with tailored financial guidance and lending solutions.
• Connect clients with lending, deposits, Treasury Management, and SBA programs.
• Build partnerships with business owners, centers of influence, and professional networks to generate referrals.
• Represent DFCU in the community and support local business success.
• Analyze and underwrite credit requests per policies and risk appetite.
• Monitor loan covenants, past due accounts, and renewal timelines.
• Collaborate with Business Banking Assistants and Loan Documentation teams to streamline processing.
• Work cross-functionally with Retail, Treasury and Lending teams for holistic solutions.
• Prepare call plans and reviews; stay informed on market trends to be a trusted advisor.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete required professional development and compliance training.
