Job summary

First Bank Chicago in Northbrook, IL is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead underwriting and management of complex Commercial – Middle Market, Large Corporate and Franchise loan transactions. You will oversee portfolio management, guide credit strategy, and supervise a team of credit professionals, delivering risk-adjusted growth while ensuring compliance with policies and audits.

This role reports to the Chief Commercial Banking Officer and requires extensive banking experience, CPA or MBA

Qualifications

• College degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent related experience.
• 10+ years’ experience in banking industry.
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial lending area.
• Credit analysis training.
• Microsoft proficiency.
• CPA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Portfolio Managers (PMs) in due diligence, underwriting and loan documentation of new loan transactions, renewals, amendments and oversee portfolio and client monitoring.
• Supervise the financial analysis and approval requests consistent with Bank credit policy.
• Oversee and provide guidance in credit strategy and terms for all new loan transactions and renewals.
• Supervise quarterly and annual reviews and all outstanding loan ticklers.
• Assist in managing Franchise loan policy and credit monitoring procedures.
• Supervise PM’s administration for Franchise fundings and related new loan closings.
• Oversee portfolio administration and provide Senior Management and Board reporting.
• Ensure audits and compliance with credit policies and covenant monitoring.
• Drive process improvements to increase workflow efficiency.
• Train and develop new or less experienced PMs and loan administrators.
