Job summary

State Street is seeking a hands-on Application Engineering Lead to guide a large-scale, business-critical platform in a fast-paced Agile environment. The role requires cloud expertise, leadership, and collaboration with global IT and business teams.

The candidate will oversee design, development, production readiness, and operational stability while mentoring engineers and driving innovation across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience developing enterprise applications and data processing solutions.
• Multi-platform/multi-database/multi-language experience.
• Hands-on AWS Compute services (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS) and AWS RDS PostgreSQL development.
• Hands-on ReactJS or similar front-end frameworks.
• Experience delivering cloud-based solutions on AWS or other clouds.
• Event-driven architecture, microservices, and serverless patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams delivering large-scale enterprise applications.
• Partner with business, architecture, infrastructure, and risk teams to deliver strategic technology solutions.
• Oversee solution design, development, production readiness, and operational stability.
• Mentor engineering talent and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Communicate technology strategy, risks, and delivery progress to senior leadership.
• Design and develop cloud native applications in AWS for the IMS West business unit.
• Provide hands-on support during critical delivery initiatives and complex production challenges.
