Job summary

The State of Florida’s FLHSMV seeks a Systems Programmer III to lead the voice and video communications infrastructure. The role focuses on planning, design, monitoring, and management of telecommunication systems to support the department's mission.

The ideal candidate has strong VOIP experience, telephony knowledge, and hands-on work with Cisco WebEx and contact-center platforms. Federal CJIS clearance and background checks apply, with standard state employment terms in Tallahassee.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have strong Voice over IP technical support and Architecture experience.
• Experience in network and telecommunications design and implementation.
• Thorough understanding of telephony technologies including PBX, IVR, Voicemail, Call Centers, CTI and Enterprise Voice Systems.
• Working experience with enterprise video communication solutions such as Cisco WebEx.
• Working experience with Call/Contact Center applications such as Cisco UCCE, Cisco UCCX or Avaya Contact Center.
• Knowledge of networking equipment and TCP/IP (routers, switches and gateways).
• Experience coordinating and maintaining telecommunications service contracts and maintenance agreements.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic proficiency in coding/programming and technical documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work and lead independently.

Responsibilities

• The Systems Programmer III leads planning, design, monitoring, integration and management of voice and video communication systems.
• Provides technical guidance to the Telecommunications Services team and supports department needs.
• Ensures reliable operation of telecommunication infrastructure and related systems.
