Job summary

GDC IT Solutions is seeking a Senior Voice and Network Engineer to join our Managed Services team. You will design, implement, and support modern phone systems and VoIP infrastructure for managed services customers, with hands-on work on 3CX, SIP, and related networking.

The role involves on-call support, migrations, and Tier 3 escalation for VoIP issues, collaborating with multiple carriers and device vendors. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience with 3CX or comparable VoIP platforms.
• Strong understanding of SIP and VoIP technologies.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing, QoS.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls.
• Experience deploying and supporting IP phones.
• Experience troubleshooting VoIP call-quality issues.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical customers.
• Experience in an MSP or managed-services environment preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple customer projects and support issues simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain phone systems for SMB and mid-market customers.
• Perform new phone system installations, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Provision and manage IP phones and other VoIP endpoints.
• Support platforms including Yealink, Fanvil, Grandstream, Poly, and similar devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot VoIP-related firewall requirements.
• Work with firewalls including Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, WatchGuard, Palo Alto, and similar platforms.
• Troubleshoot SIP connectivity and interoperability issues with carriers and SIP providers.
• Perform network and packet-level troubleshooting using Wireshark and 3CX diagnostic tools.
• Monitor customer phone systems and proactively identify potential problems.
• Participate in on-call and escalation support as required.
• Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for VoIP and 3CX-related issues.
