Job summary

Taxo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the voice runtime and deliver real‑time voice AI capabilities in healthcare conversations. You’ll ship and operate speech, turn-taking, and tool orchestration with EHR integrations, reporting to the CTO.

You will own observability, latency, and reliability of voice services, collaborating with frontend, backend, and QA teams to push robust production features from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience shipping real-time voice AI systems in production.
• Strong software engineering skills with LLMs, tool calls, and external APIs.
• Experience balancing latency, accuracy, and cost in live systems.
• Ability to debug distributed systems and own reliability and observability.
• Product judgment and clear communication in ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

• Build real-time voice agents for healthcare workflows.
• Develop conversation pipeline across speech recognition, LLMs, and telephony.
• Improve turn-taking, interruptions, latency, and recovery.
• Build voice-agent orchestration and tool calls on shared backends.
• Own voice component tests and production instrumentation with QA team.
• Own voice-service observability and on-call response.
