Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a senior VMware VCF engineer to join the cloud infrastructure operations team. Remote role with hiring eligibility in Arizona, North Carolina, and Texas. Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere, plus automation scripting and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage VMware-based infrastructure, lead projects, and provide mentorship while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in Systems engineer and systems programmer or 10 years with HS Diploma/GED
• Strong VMware Cloud Foundation expertise
• Experience with VMware SDDC Manager, NSX, vSAN, Aria Suite
• Strong networking, storage and virtualization knowledge
• Scripting with PowerShell, Python and/or Ansible
• VMware certifications such as VCP or VCAP desirable
• Eligible for on-call rotation
• Self-starter in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative direction and technical advice on bank infrastructure
• Lead technical projects with timely, quality delivery
• Maintain and manage VMware VCF infrastructure
• Develop automation scripts to streamline deployment and management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VMware VCF with existing systems
• Lead on-call rotation and incident resolution for VCF platform
