Job summary

Referment is seeking a Senior Virtualization and Storage Engineer to own production platforms and guide the next generation through migrations and PoC work. This role blends operational responsibility with long-range design across virtualization, storage, and automation.

You will lead complex migrations, build tooling for reliability and efficiency, and provide technical direction while remaining hands-on in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of hands-on experience with production server virtualization.
• Deep expertise in VMware, Hyper-V or a KVM-based platform.
• Enterprise storage and SAN experience with storage protocols and at least one software-defined storage platform.
• Python and PowerShell programming experience.
• Strong independent delivery, organization and communication skills.
• A computer science or related technical degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain production virtualization platforms and storage solutions with emphasis on availability and performance.
• Research alternative technologies, run proofs of concept and define practical migration paths.
• Build automation and tooling to improve reliability, scalability and efficiency.
• Plan and execute virtualization and storage migrations with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical direction on large initiatives while staying hands-on.
