Job summary

Conservice LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to own the day-to-day health and long-term direction of virtualization, compute, and storage platforms. You will work hands-on across Windows, Linux, and VMware, driving root cause analyses and automation initiatives.

The role emphasizes autonomy, mentorship, and durable documentation, with regular on-site presence in a hybrid Utah environment. You will help shape resilience, backup, DR posture, and gradually introduce container workloads

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Systems/Infrastructure Administrator in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on VMware vSphere administration at scale.
• Solid Linux administration experience (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar).
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage — performance troubleshooting.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent.
• Experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Zabbix, PRTG, Grafana/Prometheus).
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Kerberos/service accounts.
• Ability to work independently through ambiguous, multi-step problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise VMware vSphere environments (ESXi hosts, vCenter, HA/DRS clusters) supporting 500+ VMs.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux systems in production — patching, hardening, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Manage Active Directory, including GPO management and service account security (gMSA, Kerberos).
• Manage enterprise SAN/NAS storage platforms (Qumulo, HPE Nimble/Alletra), capacity planning and migrations.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting across compute and storage layers.
• Implement and manage Veeam backup and DR solutions, including regular recovery testing.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, runbooks, and procedures.
• Write and maintain automation in PowerShell/PowerCLI and Bash across mixed Windows/Linux environments.
• Provide systems-level support for database infrastructure as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with network and security teams, communicating status and blockers proactively.
• Help grow container footprint over time as workloads evolve.
