Job summary

Builders Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Senior Virtual Premium Auditor to support large commercial line audits from a home office across multiple states. This role handles complex audits, provides guidance to less experienced virtual auditors, and supports training under the Field Manager.

You will conduct virtual audits, verify classifications, and communicate audit results to insureds, agents, underwriting, claims, and accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with 3–5 years of industry experience.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office) and strong customer service.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with strong time management and organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual audits and pre-audits of large or complex commercial lines policies by reviewing operations and financial records.
• Ensure quality of the audit through accurate risk classification and exposure basis identification.
• Record audit information and transmit completed audits using the Premium Audit Service system.
• Discuss issues with insureds to ensure understanding of premium changes and maintain customer relations.
• Provide information to internal teams (underwriting, claims, accounting) about audit matters.
• Remain informed of industry changes and training materials related to premium auditing.
• Demonstrate strong time management and work remotely with minimal supervision.
• Support training of less experienced auditors and mentor lower-level auditors.
