Job summary

Axios is seeking a creative, highly organized Producer/Senior Producer to help grow Axios' original video portfolio, taking ideas from concept through production, post-production, publishing, and audience growth across YouTube, social, and digital platforms.

This role collaborates with editorial, video, social, audience, revenue, and external production partners to turn strong ideas into compelling, visually engaging video while guiding shoots, editing, and distribution.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of relevant video production, journalism, or digital media experience.
• Proven ability to produce, shoot, and edit professional video content.
• Strong editorial judgment and visual storytelling skills.
• Experience producing for YouTube with audience development knowledge.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to work with on-camera talent and manage timelines.
• Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and adaptable to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Produce video from ideation through scripting, shooting, post-production, publishing, and promotion.
• Shape ideas into pitches, treatments, scripts, shot lists, and run-of-show documents.
• Develop creative concepts with editorial and video leaders to align with Axios' voice.
• Lead or support field, studio, and remote productions.
• Work with journalists, executives, guests, and on-camera talent.
• Coordinate work across internal teams, freelancers, vendors, and partners.
• Create video optimized for YouTube and other platforms, including packaging and distribution.
• Use platform trends and insights to inform creative decisions and grow audience.
• Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and production schedules in a fast-moving environment.
