Job summary

The Nooksack Indian Tribe Health Department seeks a Veterans Program Manager to lead and oversee services for Tribal Veterans, offering guidance on VA benefits, policy interpretation, and program development.

You will supervise staff, coordinate outreach and events, manage data reporting, ensure HIPAA compliance, and partner with federal and state agencies to maximize benefits for veterans and their dependents.

Qualifications

• Must be an honorably discharged veteran or retired from the U.S. armed forces.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field; or an Associate with 5 years related experience or 10 years related experience.
• Experience dealing with diverse social behaviors and tribal contexts.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a tribal environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the Veterans Program strategic plan in alignment with Health Department goals and action plans.
• Attends and participates in regular meetings with Health Department leadership and Tribal Council.
• Designs, maintains and produces queries, reports, surveys, and documents.
• Directs activities of the Veterans program and ensures compliance with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations.
• Supervises Veterans Program staff and coordinates program activities with external partners.
• Coordinates program data and serves as a resource for Tribal Veterans Office operations.
• Participates in civic functions to inform the community about services and veterans’ rights.
