Job summary

The Nooksack Indian Tribe Health Department seeks a Veterans Program Manager to lead the Veterans Program with cultural sensitivity, humility and compassion. The manager will guide service delivery to tribal veterans and their dependents, advise on state and federal benefits, and coordinate with medical providers and agencies to maximize supports.

Responsibilities include developing strategic plans, coordinating peer support and community outreach, preparing reports, and ensuring HIPAA

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of federal and state veteran programs and policies.
• Experience working in or with Tribal communities preferred.
• Excellent report writing, presentation and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the Veterans Program strategic plan in alignment with Health Department goals and action plans.
• Attends and participates in regular meetings with Health Department leadership and Tribal Council.
• Designs and produces queries, reports, surveys, and documents.
• Maintains relationships with Tribal Council, veterans of other tribes, and governmental agencies.
• Directs activities of the Veterans program ensuring compliance with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations.
• Develops policies and contractual agreements within assigned areas.
• Prepares professional reports on departmental activities and statistics.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and data security.
• Coordinates program activity data and liaises with external veterans organizations.
• Participates in civic events to inform the community about services and veterans’ rights.
