Job summary

U.S.Vets is seeking a Lead Veteran Services Assistant to oversee residential services and supervise staff at the March Air Reserve Base facility. This role reports to the Veteran Services Coordinator and collaborates to ensure effective delivery of services for veterans.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in the non-profit sector, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to a sober, client-centered environment, with basic computer skills and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1-year VSC or related program experience required.
• Leadership experience: able to manage 8-10 residential staff.
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Efficient in a client-centered approach and sober environment.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
• Energetic, mission-driven, flexible, with non-profit leadership experience (2+ years).

Responsibilities

• Supervise delivery of basic services (shelter, food, hygiene) to veterans at the facility.
• Supervise daily client services and support functions.
• Manage Veterans Service Coordinator staff and develop weekly schedules.
• Provide training and supervision to residential staff.
• De-escalate incidents and file reports to Veterans Service Manager.
• Ensure fluidity of services and maintain supply inventory and meals coordination.
• Implement UA testing to promote a sober environment.
• Oversee safety and emergency procedures; report residential services.
• Submit timely reports on residential services delivered.
