Job summary

Waymo LLC seeks an experienced Quality Engineering leader to drive APQP/PPAP for new vehicle launches and ensure ERS compliance across hardware and firmware components.

You will lead DFMEA, DFM/DFx activities, and collaborate with OEMs, HW engineering, and supply chain to meet internal and external standards. Strong root cause analysis and data-driven improvement are essential, with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Leadership in APQP/PPAP for vehicle launches.
• Ability to interpret complex vehicle specs for validation and manufacturing.
• Proficient with quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, DOE, 8D.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP and PPAP, ensure ERS compliance, provide quality support across PDP.
• Ensure DFMEA, design reviews, DFM/DFx meet standards for high quality vehicles.
• Collaborate with OEMs and cross-functional teams to verify quality requirements.
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams.
• Analyze field warranty and line defect data to drive corrective actions.
• Establish and lock control plans, PFMEAs and inspection SOPs for hardware freeze.
