Job summary

Lucid Motors seeks a Vehicle Engineering Manager to guide the future of electric vehicles within the Vehicle Line Director's program. You will mentor engineers, align with the Chief Engineering team on design direction, attributes, and cost targets, and own concept freezes and engineering changes.

You will lead cross-functional teams, influence design reviews, and drive sourcing decisions, while balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability across programs.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering experience and excellence in design.
• Knowledge of mechanisms.
• Exceptional understanding of physics and material science with proven application to design.
• Hands-on experience in prototype/v ehicle assembly or service.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (extrusions, castings, stampings).
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
• 10+ years in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Cross-functionally pulls teams to design and develop concepts from a blank canvas for future vehicles.
• Lead benchmarking at system and vehicle level with engineering teams.
• CAD/sketch components across vehicle systems (Body-In-White, suspensions, interiors, etc.).
• Represent Chief Engineer in design reviews, sourcing councils, ECRs, and issue tracking.
• Evaluate manufacturing methods to optimize weight, attributes, and cost.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Safety, Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Styling, and Manufacturing teams.
• Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment.
