Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation's McNeilus division is seeking a Senior Controls Systems Engineer to drive advanced vehicle control systems research, verification, testing and production implementation for heavy‑duty trucks. You will work across autonomy, active safety, electrification, and connectivity programs, defining requirements and milestones in a collaborative environment.

You will develop strategies in virtual simulations and bench tests, transfer them to vehicle testing, and partner with vendors,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of related experience.
Experience in automotive/heavy‑duty vehicles and telematics is a plus.
Background with CAN bus architectures and embedded software development.

Responsibilities

Lead development of advanced vehicle control systems and telematics from R&D to production.
Work on autonomy, active safety, electrification, and advanced connectivity programs.
Establish requirements, resources, estimates, test plans, and milestones for projects.
Develop control strategies in virtual simulations and transfer to vehicle testing.
Collaborate with vendors, universities, and internal teams under supervision.
Assist feasibility studies, budgets, and timelines for proposed efforts.
Support proposals to secure funding and provide design feedback to engineers.
