Job summary

QBE, LLC in Key West, FL is seeking a highly experienced Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator to design, implement, and manage the VDI environment onsite. The role focuses on virtualization platforms, performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery.

Candidates should have 5+ years in VDI, a related bachelor's degree (or 4 extra years experience in lieu), and hands-on experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or RDS, plus VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on experience in a VDI administration role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; additional four years of relevant experience can substitute for degree.
• Proficiency in VDI technologies such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, or Microsoft RDS.
• Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and hypervisor technologies (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V).
• Expert-level troubleshooting and knowledge of network, storage, and security in VDI.
• Certifications like VCP/CCP-V desirable.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing the VDI infrastructure and templates.
• Monitoring VDI performance and user connectivity; troubleshoot issues.
• Installing and maintaining hypervisor software and host resources.
• Plan backups, DR procedures, and security measures for VDI.
• Architect and tune VDI environment for health and efficiency.
